Unite for recovery
Join Oaks Recovery on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 for an inspiring evening with basketball legend and recovery advocate Chris Herren!
Oaks Recovery is proud to be hosting its second Unite for Recovery event, where we bring together community members to shed light on the global and local impact of addiction/substance use disorder and the need for community unity in recovery services for all.
In 2020, Unite for Recovery hosted over 400 attendees and featured National Speakers Ryan Hampton, Tim Ryan, and Brandon Novak.
This year, we’re excited to present National Speaker Chris Herren!
Chris Herren, a basketball legend from Fall River, Massachusetts, was an All-American, broke scoring records and was recruited by the nation’s top colleges. Herren realized his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA when he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 1999 and then traded to his hometown team, the Boston Celtics, before losing his career and almost his family to the disease of addiction.
A person in long term recovery, Chris inspires people to start the conversation on wellness and educate themselves on the disease of addiction. It is his hope that strength will be found in the struggle and communities will come TOGETHER to address the issue of substance use disorder, advocate for effective treatment and embrace the power of recovery.

Why We're Here
Oaks Recovery was founded in 2015 because we had a vision of a world where recovery is rooted in all our lives, families, and communities.
We’ve experienced the destructive impact of addiction, but we’ve also seen the hope and healing that recovery brings. Our programs and services offer a safe, positive environment where individuals can find that hope and healing.
